Most deposit deductions come from the same handful of places: the inside of the oven, the refrigerator, cabinet shelves, baseboards, and bathroom grout. A home can look clean from the doorway and still fail a move-out inspection because of them.
Start in the kitchen, since it takes the longest. Empty and wipe every cabinet and drawer, pull out and clean the refrigerator shelves, and give the oven a real degreasing, not just a wipe of the door. Don't forget the range hood filter and the top of the fridge.
In bathrooms, scrub tubs and showers for soap scum and hard-water spots, clean the toilet all the way down to the base, and wipe mirrors, fixtures, and the inside of vanities. Colorado's hard water leaves mineral rings that need a dedicated cleaner.
Finish with the details that show in an empty room: baseboards, door frames, light switches, window sills and tracks, and the floor along the walls where furniture stood. Then take photos of every room before you hand over the keys.
For military families on a PCS timeline, or anyone short on time, a professional move-out clean is often cheaper than losing part of a deposit. We clean inside appliances and cabinets as part of every move-out.
