A regular clean covers the things that get dirty every week: kitchen counters and sinks, bathrooms, dusting reachable surfaces, vacuuming, mopping, and trash. It's designed to keep a home in good shape, not to fix a home that has fallen behind.
A deep clean goes further. Baseboards and trim, door frames and light switches, built-up grease on cabinets, soap scum and grout lines, the tops of door frames and ceiling fans, and the inside of cabinets and drawers. It takes longer and costs more, but it resets everything to a clean baseline.
If your home hasn't been professionally cleaned in a few months, if you're getting ready for guests or the holidays, or if you're switching cleaning companies, start with a deep clean. After that, weekly or biweekly visits keep it there with less time and at a lower cost per visit.
